Toyin Saraki

Philanthropist and tireless long-term advocate for women’s and children’s health and empowerment, Mrs. Toyin Saraki is the Founder and President of The Wellbeing Foundation Africa (WBFA). Through WBFA and working with a broad range of partners such as the UN, the Nigeria Federal Ministry of Health, and the organized private sector, Mrs. Saraki has demonstrated leadership, over two decades, on the advancement of women’s and children’s health through community health workers and midwives.

Toyin Saraki is the Emeritus Global Goodwill Ambassador for the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM); she is a member of the International Steering Committee of the International Conference on Population and Development and special adviser to the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) of the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Africa (AFRO). She is also Save the Children’s Newborn Health Champion for Nigeria; and is a Global Champion for the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood.

Mrs. Saraki holds a LLB degree in law from the London School of Oriental and African Studies and a LLM in International Economic Law from King’s College London. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1989.
